Just back in from a music recital at the first UK Social School this evening. The Head and I armed to the teeth with a full-scale recording studio at the ready – well, iPhones anyway.
We recorded and published pretty much every performance to the school’s Audio Boo channel which we set up to feed into the Facebook central page via a separate tab designed engage the community through sound. It’s easier to see than explain.
It was a one-take only opportunity and thanks to 3G, two iPhones and the AudioBoo App publishing content on the fly through to Facebook – it all came together like an A-Team episode. (Never a doubt of course!)
So what? Well it means the community who couldn’t make it could participate and can value the work of the school, potential parents get a unique insight into the school ethos & of course mums and dads get to listen again before they’ve even got home! Parental engagement with Facebook for schools.
