What is Blippit?

Introduction

‘Blippit’ is an education & health technology brand that is owned by Get Logged In Ltd who are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office with details held publicly on the data protection register.

What do we do?

We provide web-based software, apps, support, training and resources (as ‘Blippit’) to enhance curriculum learning, promote inclusion and support effective timely engagement with school’s communities through social media (‘Blippit Social’).  We provide and run the Social School Award which is a self-assessment certified CPD opportunity for schools using social media. We provide an app and dashboard (‘Blippit Boards’) for school and subject leaders.  We also provide Health Trusts with software to manage information in support of critical care needs.

What information will be shared?

At Blippit we are not required to, nor do we, share data with third parties on schools, health organisations, individual users or companies to provide our services.

Blippit provides services and tools in the main across the UK.  All of our websites and related data are based in London, England for the delivery and management of core Blippit services including Blippit App Maker, Blippit Boards, Blippit Nano (Blippit Meds), Social School Award.  Blippit Boards data are all hosted on the Google Cloud infrastructure with a core file storage location of western Europe.  With social media reporting services, such as Blippit Social Reports and Blippit Social Surveys, we do not handle any personal identifying data at all.

Where we partner with governments for specific projects we will meet data and performance requirements by hosting all aspects of the service within the client country.

The lawful basis for processing personal data for Free Blippit users comes under legitimate interests.  We identify a free user as a real school and potential customer on our database.  Free users of Blippit App Maker, for example, receive no more than 6 tips and ideas emails over the coming months to help guide them in their free trial.  Free trial users of Blippit Boards, for example, receive no more than 2 emails from a real person at Blippit Support to ensure they can make progress and get the most from their free 40 days.  To help users (administrators) unsubscribe from receiving automated emails, a link is provided in any email correspondence. Free users of Blippit Boards will receive no more than a maximum of 3 transactional, tips or ideas emails over the 40 day free period. This will depend upon whether school requires our support of course.

We operate only two email lists and each can be unsubscribed from at any time by the recipient.  Once a Blippit App Maker account expires any email address is removed from our mail lists automatically and the recipient won’t hear from us again unless re-activated within 12 months by renewing your Blippit subscription. Our other email list is to share news and updates with existing customers.  Depending upon the nature or scale of an update, we may update directly via our Support or an inbox from a named person within Blippit.

When a school upgrades to a paid account on Blippit Boards or Blippit App Maker, we use the contact data under a lawful contract basis to inform billing and service support.  All users/customers are their own data controllers who can update, delete, modify this data at any time.
