When you just need a refresher on a topic that you’ve not visited for ages, like app publishing, there’s a simple and quick way to feel like a super-capable ninja.
There’s always Google, but, for more specific info on Blippit IO there’s a Knowledgebase accessible from within Blippit IO itself via the Help/Info icon.
Above is a screenshot of the popular topic of app publishing from the Knowledgebase. This entry is a series of screenshots that walk you through the process.
Other topics and tours feature videos to watch like the Admin Tour. So, don’t feel stuck whatever you do. Click the Help/Info icon in Blippit IO when you’re logged in and you’ll never be far away from the information you need.
We’ve emailed you already with special rates as a thank you for sticking with us from the beginning. If you’ve not received an email from us just contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll put that right.
The new app maker currently in closed BETA testing is getting a, dare we suggest it, beautiful overhaul of how user admin is handled. Having played tonight with the new interface and features first-hand I can say that it makes admin almost a pleasure.
We’ll be unleashing the new app maker for general release really soon so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested in seeing the new incarnation.
Yesterday I was on a train journey that seemed so dull it could have been in black and white. And that’s when I had an idea.
I took a sneaky quick snap in the reflection of the train window, being sure not to arouse attention with a loud shutter sound effect or auto flash that would give the game away.
I sent the photo up to the Cloud via 4G which then synced to my laptop. Once there I loaded up my beta version of the new app maker which is currently in closed testing with peeps from schools.
One of the new features in the BETA comes under the heading of ‘funky’. It was never requested by any user ever but what the heck we built it anyway because we believe it’ll have a big impact for the better.
Essentially we’ve taken the app maker and turned the Image Widget bit of it into a full blown image editor capable of quite magical things. Well, in the right hands anyway; not necessarily mine as you can see.
We can’t wait to see what our users do with this 🙂 Choo choo!
[thumbnail src=”http://blog.blippit.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/blippithelpvideos.png”] A lot of people, particularly from secondary schools, have the age old challenge of crazy schedules with one class out and another one straight in. It’s a bit like Paddington Station.
Because of this and the other demands every teacher faces it’s no surprise that not everyone has chance to practice/play with a tool like Blippit’s App Maker much before they actually come face to face with the children using it. Indeed we know for a fact that sometimes the children are the first main power users of the app maker in school.
So. That’s the reality. What then can we do to ease this a bit? Well videos seem to be one solution to support the class so that they can more independently get to grips with being creative while having their questions answered through video.
We’ve now just released a bunch of newly updated help videos and more are to come. They feature
an intro for app maker newbies
widget specific help videos

It’s summer time as this post goes live and we’ve been looking into our data a little bit. We wanted to know which of the app maker’s widgets were getting the most use and thought you might be interested too.
So as it’s summer, just for now anyway, you’re invited to download our one page PDF via the thumbnail below. It’s as easy to digest as a family pack of Maltesers and hopefully interesting as well!
Familiar with the whole “I forgot my username/password ” routine?
For a few months now we’ve been working with RM in order to make using Blippit even simpler. Unify is a nifty cloud based app management tool and by using it schools are in fact making life much easier for everyone!
After logging in to Unify that’s it – all services are accessible thanks to the fabulous ‘single sign-on’ which takes care of logging in without you getting stressed out about it.
BONUS! Blippit knows whether you’re a teacher, student or Blippit system admin so we’ve now been able to let you switch hats with just one click and no extra logging in or decoding CAPTCHAs. That has to be good right?
